Friday, 13 December 2024 – Day 24 of Yuletide

I was awakened at 04:30 to the regular morning trumpet.  As I was standing up, there was a knock on the door.   I opened the door and saw this gnome looking fellow with the tag: Giljagaur.  I am not sure where he came from, but he looked like the other lad in my room, so I brought the little statue into the room, completed my morning routine and headed to the library for breakfast with Loki.

I showed Loki the tag and he laughed and said, “I see someone has sent the lads to visit. I thought maybe yesterday’s friend was hosted around here somewhere.  I didn’t realize you were the chosen one.

I asked him what he meant, and he said that the lads are an Icelandic treasure, apparently they are visiting me this year for whatever reason.  He warned me to beware of losing my milk. Apparently this gnome is a milk thief.  Looks like today will be fun.”

I asked Loki if I could hit the range, I wanted to shoot the big guns again.  He said that it wouldn’t be a problem, he would escort me to the church after breakfast.

I laughed and asked him whose idea it was for the gun range to be a church.  He told me that he couldn't tell me that it wasn’t him.  We soon found ourselves looking through the armory at the big toys.  I am not sure why, but today the armory was set up as a white tent inside the range.  I asked Loki and he mumbled something about Valhalla hell-pits.  Apparently he wasn’t going to be telling much more.  I spent a ton of ammo until close to 11:00 when a five ring claxon started ringing.  Five tones, a second of quiet and five tones.  Loki turned pale.  I figured this couldn’t be a good thing.  He looked at me and said to arm up.  Pick out anything I thought I could use to kill anything from a hydra to a god.  There was an imminent attack.  I loaded a wagon and he ushered me and the wagon to a back door that I hadn’t seen.  It was painted the same as the room and you had to know it was there to use it.  He told me that I should run with my oversized wagon of goodies, a team would need them and I may be needed to serve as a heavy gunner.  He had to return to HQ to ensure a second line of defense was in place if the team I was supposed to meet failed.

The further I ran down the hallway, the thicker the mist gathered around me, I soon found myself in a room of unknown size looking at several faces that I recognized and one lady in United States Army fatigues.

Murphy McMurphae appeared to be taking the lead.  He was talking fast and pointing to a pile of crates off to the right.  He then turned and looked over at me and told me that I was late, but he was happy to see that I had brought toys to play with the newcomers.

I asked him how I was late. I was here when I was told to be here.  He replied that rapid response teams are always late.  There never seems to be a way to be on time, although Alexander is working to get  the bugs out of the new system created by Vulcan and Hep.

McMurphae starts quickly introducing everyone as we start unpacking guns, ammo, armor and more… He said, you have met Six, she is our void expert; Stewart, he is our resident wild card.  He is a bard…. He sings a special song about grenades and loves to make big booms; Bjord is a claymore wielding hand to hand specialist; Mora is another wild card, she likes her staff, but can pick up almost any weapon and make it sing. (pause)

He then asked if I had met  Deayln, a master chief in the army.  She was visiting Neptune and Posiedon.  Apparently she just finished her job there when the claxon went off. They sent her here via their doorway. She is a government trained sniper and was looking for fun on her day off.  Make sure she doesn’t get killed.  Her dad is a powerful Fae and you don’t want him mad at you.

Master Chief Dealyn turned pissed off red and coughed, her words were “ I’m not green Sir.  I’m a United States Navy Seal, not a fuc*ing pack humper. I can use a sniper rifle, but calling me a sniper is an understatement.  At least you didn’t call me a damn officer.  I fuc*ing work for a living.  I’m wearing these damn green clothes bacause I am currently attached to a group of pack humpers at the Joint Command Training Center up the road.  Read the Fuc*ing tag.  N -A-V-Y.  Spells navy moron!

She seemed nice!  I wonder if she has met my boss.  I think the Morgan would like her.

Before long we were making our way through the mist.  McMurphae was on point and called a halt as a large being started to come into view.  It appeared to a titan in tattered clothes holding an Ivory spear with greek carvings on it.  He was visibly bleeding from a wound at his neck and a wound near his hip.  He called out, Bring me Athena!  Bring me Bella!  They must die.

We looked at each other and McMurphae yelled at him to surrender and we would bring him to Athena.

The titan then started to grow….  I swear he was 20 feet tall as he started to make his attack.

Bjord ran in and tried to hit him with the claymore, but he laughed and started talking in third person.  He said that Pallas can’t be killed by puny swords. He then hit Bjord in the rear with the spear causing him to tumble past him and stagger.

Stewart started singing….  The song is stuck in my head… 100 bottles of scotch on the wall, 100 bottles of scotch, take one down and THUNK…. a 40 mm grenade exploded on the titans chest.  THe big guy  laughed and said, Pallas is the Titan of War, not some scarecrow.  Try again little boy!

Pallas attacked again.  Mora stepped up with her staff and deflected his attack before he made contact.  He seemed to be getting stronger as we were fighting, but the blood soaked spear was too close for comfort.

Deayn waited until there was an opening and you heard a pop, pop, pop as the Titan turned and took three rounds to the forehead.  Unfortunately the 7.62 nato lead just fell to the floor instead of doing its job.

McMurphae yelled, wear him down. He will eventually feel it.

Another grenade exploded in his face, on his neck, and near the oozing bloody wound that looked like a sword had been shoved under his ribcage.

Six yelled, Watch it! as she made a swirl in the mist causing a ropelike coil to fall around the Titan’s ankles.  She pulled and he looked like he would fall over but reversed the tug and tried to run her through with the spear, she avoided it at the last moment and tried to disarm him to no avail.

Pop, pop, pop. Dealyn tried to hit him in the eye, but somehow he blocked the projectile  with the spear.  It was like he felt them coming.

I jumped in with a couple heavy toys of my own, but they did no visible damage.  If this guy was a video game baddy, I’d say his shields were set to uber-boss level.   I know we haven't been at it long, but I didn’t see a way that this was going to end well.  I yelled at McMurphae asking why we are the only ones facing this bastard.  He said that we were the only sober ones available.  Figures.

Pallas made a pass at my position, but I moved aside as Mora used my wagon as a springboard to vault up and hit the Titan in the head with the full force of her staff.

WHACK, the big guy actually looked dazed for a moment as Bjord tried to hamstring him with his sword.  The Titan blocked the attempt and laughed at him for his trouble.

Dealyn yells, I will cut your fuc*ing balls off and make them my trophy.  You are no match for me.  I’m a fuc*ing Master Chief in the United States Fuc*ing Navy.”

Bjord runs in again, only this time his claymore is on his back and he is packing twin single barrel 10 gauges.  He picks a side and unloads into the titans left kneecap.

Pallas Bellows.  Dealyn yells “weakness. left knee.”  Mora steps in and whacks him in the knee with her staff.  He shudders but doesn’t fall.

Steward’s singing gets louder as he gets to 89 bottles of scotch on the wall and pops open his grenade launcher.  He pulls out a grenade, pops the top off of it and drinks what appears to be the clearest golden scotch available.  He then closes his launcher and you hear THUMP THUMP THUMP as grenades go off on the weakened knee.

Six quickly starts forming another snare, but this one is only for the left ankle…. She gives it a jerk and he grunts but holds steady.

Dealyn seems to come out of the mist and buries a ka-bar knife behind his left knee joint.  It is clearly embedded in the joint and the first real damage we have seen since fighting started.”

McMurphae yelled for Six to pull the knife.  Soon there was an ethereal rope around the hit and the knife was fell to the ground.

Pop, pop, pop.  Dealyn Hit the knee with three shots that actually penetrated.  THe titan was then just sort of standing in place sweeping the area with the spear, trying to stab whatever he could.  He looked like he could stay in survival mode all day, but he was pinned in this area, whatever this area is.  We definitely had his attention.

Deaylan soon yelled, VISITORS!

I turned and saw a man that was about seven feet tall. He has a hammer that looks like it is made of bone and scale.  Every step closer he gets makes him look more and more like a reptile.  The hammer makes me sick at my stomach. I’m not sure about it, but he seems to be fixated on Pallas as he approaches.

McMurphae yelled to the newcomer.  General, are you our back up?

The general replied that he and two others were here to see Pallas back to his rightful resting place.  We should continue to keep him occupied as he waited for the other two.

Moments later a gaunt camper with hollow eyes and the green bird man, Evän that I saw the other day showed up.

The gaunt kid started talking.  Pallas, Pallas, Pallas, why do you have my spear.

Pallas bellowed that Pallas had his spear, he could use it as he pleased.

The gaunt guy then looked as if he slipped into a trance…. He started to glow.  The spear started to glow… BOOM, the spear was in the campers hand and Pallas lost his smile.

Evän started speaking in a booming voice like a god-of-old telling the titan that we were going to reach under his chest bone and take his still beating heart as a meal.

Pallas didn’t pay him any mind but, the general told our crew to stand back, he would deal with the welp.

He then started swinging his hammer, it was like you could hear the screams of his children that made up the tool screaming in for the attack, he hit the bloody kneecap and the titans leg exploded from the force.  The General turned again and hammered the other knee which exploded leaving the Titan on his rear with two bleeding stumps and a look of confusion.  He obviously didn’t understand what had just happened.

Evän was fingering the obsidian blade in hand.  He asked if he could take the heart now.

Tartarus said that he would rather him alive for his return trip home.  The bird man shook his head and handed the blade to Deaylan.  The General was poised above him holding the potential death blow as she came up behind him and defly removed his manhood, cock, balls and all.

Pallas screamed and Tartarus asked for his surrender.  The battle was over and Tartarus and Pallas disappeared into the mist.

McMurphae told us to pack up and follow him.  When we popped out in the back of the firing range it was 18:50 in the afternoon.  Time is weird in that mist.

Loki walked back to the library with me and offered to have a steak sent to my room.  I agreed and parted ways.  The steak is good and I am drained. After this, I can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings.  This is Allie le fae, passing out.
